Broken Hands - Ted

On the 4th of June 1942 a sculpture was made about darker people and white people coming together and realising that we are all the same species and should have the same rights. It was two hands (one white and the other darker) coming out of the ground and holding a piece of rope. Just last night it had been cut in half and spray painted all over. The man was a 5-foot 4 dark male with short black hair wearing black tracksuit pants and a blue hoodie. If this man is found he will be fined and may even serve jail time.

UFINISHED BUSINESS - SOPHIE

When I was 8 years old, my mum told me about a monster that attacked our city every year. Of course, I believed her. I went around telling all my friends about this monster. I knew they wouldn’t believe me, that’s why I wasn’t surprised when they called me crazy. Much later two hands rose from the centre of our street, right where James Murray was buried 31 years ago. Looks like he finally came back to me after leaving without an explanation. He had come back to finish what we had started. The murder of…

Lord Vladimir- Jordan

Do you ever wonder why things are gloomy?
Long, long ago, before humans discovered, there was happiness everywhere. Every which way you looked, you would see a smile. The grass was bright green, the birds sang with their hearts, but then it all came to a stop.
A man took over and destroyed whatever he laid his eyes on; he’d burn down villages, cut down forests, all just because he loathed other people enjoying themselves.
But then he was defeated by his one and only fear. A laugh.
He committed suicide with a rope.
Here lies the remains of Lord Vladimir!

Jack and the Bean Stalk Theory- Bella

We all know the story of Jack and the Bean Stalk. Well this is my theory of what happened to the giant’s body when he died. So, as we all know, Jack eventually kills the giant, but what we don’t know is where the body goes at the end of the story. Now you can see these hands in the middle of New York City. The hands you can see are in fact the giant’s hands. The scientist wanted to commemorate part of the giant’s body, to prove that it was not a myth. So, they chose the hands.

Almost Gone -India

 Almost Gone

Dear Diary,
I’m in hospital and I can’t fully remember why. I have some recollections of last night. The doctors told me I was lucky to be found alive. I remember being shoved in the dark. I didn’t realise someone was behind me. The soil around me was falling in. I started to feel sick and faint. It got darker than midnight, I couldn’t see. I felt a heaviness piling on top of me. Dust was filling the air around me. I felt like I was going to die. Someone was watching me the whole night, I was being buried alive.

It was then I saw him, my hero, the big hairy body, the tie saying ‘DK,’ it had to be him… Donkey Kong! I was going to run to him, but then I realized it seemed that he was sinking into the road on Chapel Street. As I watched him sink like he was in quick sand,I felt someone or something tap me on the shoulder. I turned around and I saw Mario carrying Queen Peach. They told me they were running from Donkey Kong. I started to laugh in surprise, then I turned around to see Donkey Kong’s hands holding his red and yellow tie.

Deadly Hands - Ed

A very long time ago, New York was attacked by a monster monkey. Its name was King Kong. It attacked and scared people to death. The people of New York were outraged by the amount of damage this enormous ape had done. So, the next time he attacked New York, he came prepared with a huge silver pole. The New York citizens came with about 10000 litres of cement. They started the process by sticking him down to the pavement. After one day, they had got the cement to shoulder height. Then they got his head dead and buried. The only remains were his hands, holding he pole.

Industrial Revolution - Cindy X

The industrial revolution bought humanity to a whole new level, but also caused a generation of workers outrun by the moving wheel of technology and left behind.

My father was one of them.

When human industry fell, and concrete jungles raised on top of it, buried underneath was hundreds of millions of factories workers, coal miners and many more. I’m not against technological improvement, but is there a better approach to it then causing a huge amount of unemployment? A way to make it benefit more people in more ways?

That’s also the problem we face today with the oncoming automation era.
Btw the industrial revolution happened between 1820 and 1840; so the story is fictional, but the question is very real.

The Birthday Bump Up -Bella

I was so excited, tomorrow was my birthday!
I really wanted a pink pet pig and my Mum said if I agreed to clean up after it, then yes.
I ran into my parent’s room.
“Hello Mum! What have you got there?” I asked wide eyed as mum struggled to hide something under the covers. She slowly uncovered them to show a…
PIG!
I screamed but when I took a second look I saw that it wasn’t the normal pig colour. It was brown, just brown. “It’s a pig from the shelter isn’t it adorable?”
“Yes, but what colour should it be?” I asked disappointedly

I woke up feeling excited. It was my birthday! I put on my clothes and rushed down the stairs.
I heard a soft whisper coming from the lounge. “Yeah, but what colour should it be?” asked my mum. “I don’t know, I’m not the one buying our kid a car!” replied my dad.
I crept around the corner, listening to the conversation. It was time. I jumped up and screamed, “Am I getting a car!?”
“Ahhh!” my parents screamed in shock.
“Honey, you haven’t even gotten your licence. This is for your brother.”
“But it’s my birthday!”
“WHAT!!” my parents screeched.
They forgot my birthday!

The Dress!    -India

As a wedding planner, I constantly achieve miracles. Never failing to get things done on time. Except for now, I raced around the city getting everything ready for Emma and Georges’ wedding, the cake, the venue and the dress! An email arrived late last week asking if I could get a wedding done in time, and I forgot about the dress! I immediately called Emma uncertain if she could make it to the dress shop in hectic London. I found a perfect fit before she arrived. “I want a colour more adventurous then white,” exclaimed Emma. “But what colour should it be then,” I cried?

As I arrived at the Lamborghini dealer in my Audi R8, I walk inside and asked if I can test drive the Sesto Elemento on the Nürburgring, since I live in Germany. They agreed. They told me to go there tomorrow at 1o'clock. I arrived there on time and I saw a big tuck with the Lamborghini logo on it and people unloading the car. They put it on the track and told me to drive it. I did some laps and went back to the dealership to buy it. But what colour should it be? … I choose red.

Fur Ferrari - Ted

Once upon a time, there was a greedy pig who wanted a Ferrari. Every day she would bug her mum and dad for a Ferrari. Her parents weren’t her real parents because she was adopted out at the age of 4 for continually begging for a Lamborghini. Every night she would think to herself, “But what colour should it be?”. The girl finally decided she wanted a fur covered Ferrari. She continually asked her parents and they also put her up for adoption. The girl stayed in the adoption centre for the rest of her life and never got her fur covered Ferrari.

The Fragmented Skyscraper - Charlotte M

“Finished!” I had completed my school assignment. It was a mini skyscraper formed with toothpicks, wait… but what colour should it be? Ah, I figured it out, blue, my favourite colour. I grabbed my elongated, navy coat and sprinted out the door. I had to dash to school, so I wasn’t late. Bang!!! I tripped on a pot hole in the road and face planted into a puddle. Now my skyscraper had smashed into a million pieces, literally I counted all the toothpicks at home. I picked up the mess. Thankfully, I had some glue, so I made an eco-friendly house instead.

“DAD, MUM, I NEED HELP!”
My mum and dad came rushing down the long and deserted corridor. They managed to get to my room before I had to scream out to them again.
‘What is it my precious daughter? What do you want?”
“Bella said she is going with Bob and Charlotte said she is going with James. I said I was going with Steve!”
On my mum’s and dad’s faces were confusion and annoyance.
“So why do you need us?”
“I need help. I’m going to make a dress, but what colour should it be?” My parents walked out of the room.
